You still need amazing curb appeal in the winter, so don’t skimp here! This is the first impression prospective buyers will get of your home, and it needs to be a good one.

You may not need to cut or water the grass, but you do need to make sure all the leaf litter is gone, and that the sidewalks and pathways are completely clear.

Remember, too, to put in new light bulbs if there are any that are too dim or that have burned out – winter daylight slips away before you know it, and you want your prospective buyers to get a warm welcome.

Winter and baking fresh cookies go hand-in-hand. They’ll make the house smell great (but seriously, watch your timer – nobody wants to smell burned cookies). Just make sure you leave them out to cool and leave a note that your guests are welcome to enjoy some.

If you’re really feeling welcoming, you can leave out hot chocolate, too.
