Big Shoals State Park
Only about 15 minutes from Lake City, Big Shoals State Park is the best bang for your buck if you want a great outdoor experience with minimal drive time. Fun fact: Big Shoals State Park features the largest whitewater rapids in Florida. In addition to the rapids, the waterfalls offer a challenging hike. The entire park includes more than 28 miles of trails for hiking and biking. If hiking and biking aren’t your thing, make sure you have your fishing rod with you.
